Natnatalievaldezalie Valdez has been in the Miami area for 11 years.  She was first introduced to Pilates by a friend in university when they decided to try out a dvd, but she was not too interested.  Several years later, Natalie tried a Pilates mat class and was drawn to the class immediately and decided to try a private lesson.  From that moment on, she was hooked.  Natalie realized how much more beneficial individual lessons were for her, only focusing on what was necessary for her body.  Soon after she was amazed with how much stronger she was and truly can attest to Joseph Pilates’ quote:

“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference.  In 20 you will see the difference.  And in 30 you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.”  Content, but not passionate about her career in the financial services industry, Natalie began a Pilates certification program and completed it within 8 months.  Towards the end of her program, she met Jackie Bachor, a Romana’s certified instructor and immediately saw something special in the way she taught.  Natalie strives to be the best at everything she puts her heart into, and through Jackie’s recommendation, she sought out master instructor Daria Pace, granddaughter to Joseph Pilates’ protege Romana Kryzanowska.  Natalie apprenticed under Ms. Pace for over a year to complete her Romana’s certification in 2012, and makes a point to continue her own Pilates lessons with Ms. Pace to deepen her understanding and further expand her knowledge.

Pilates is a set of exercises that emphasize on quality of movement, not the quantity of repetitions you do.  These exercises focus on posture, breath control, abdominal strength and stability, flexibility, while being low impact on joints.  It is a mind-body workout, meaning you have to pay attention and be aware of what is happening in your body.  Once you concentrate on the precision of the movements that you are in control of, you will move with more flow and begin to correct your breathing patterns.  You will feel your body’s strength come from your center.
